Call for Papers - Cloud Tools Lab

The Cloud Tools Lab is part of IEEE LatinCloud 2014 event. The goal of the Cloud Tools Lab is to create a productive environment for presentation and demonstration of automated solutions tailored to the context of Cloud Computing.

The target audience includes members of the scientific community and industry. Members of the scientific community can present their research results in the fields of cloud computing and communications, virtualization, utility computing, big data, grid computing, service-oriented computing, and software defined networks. The industry is also welcome to show commercial or proprietary tools that provide significant gains in terms of productivity or quality in the field of cloud computing.

Authors of papers submitted to the Cloud Tools Lab will be able to present and advertise their tools to the attendees of IEEE Latin Cloud 2014. The Cloud Tools Lab Session will comprise both an oral and a practical presentation of the tool.

Submission Instructions

The paper must be original and should not be under review or published in other forums. The content of the paper must include the following points:

  1. A description of the problem handled by the tool and motivation;
  2. A description of the main functionalities and indication of potential users;
  3. Usage example, possibly using a case study and screen shots that illustrates the tool interfaces;
  4. Tool architecture, focusing on the main software components and the interfaces among them;
  5. Brief comparison with other existing related tools;
  6. License (if applicable);

Papers must be written in English, formatted as the standard IEEE double-column conference template and submitted exclusively in PDF on JEMS (https://jems.sbc.org.br/cloudtoolslab2014) at the Cloud Tools Lab 2014 page. A maximum of 4 pages are allowed for each paper, including all illustrations and references.

PLEASE NOTE: To be published in the IEEE LatinCloud Conference Proceedings and IEEE Xplore®, an author of an accepted paper is required to register for the conference at the full (member, student member, or non-member) rate and the paper must be presented by an author of that paper at the conference, unless the TPC Chair grants permission for a substitute presenter arranged in advance of the event and who is qualified both to present and answer questions. Non-refundable registration fees must be paid prior to uploading the final IEEE formatted, publication-ready version of the paper. For authors with multiple accepted papers, one full registration is valid for up to 2 papers. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the IEEE Latin Cloud Conference Proceedings and submitted to IEEE Xplore®.
